Responsibilities:
Leads and inspires the driving team to achieve operational goals and KPIs
Ensures all drivers are operating in a safe and efficient manner
Organize all delivery routes to minimize miles and time
Ensures all drivers depart on time and full as per route expectations
Dispatch all pick up calls to available and logical routes
Drives revenue growth through promotion of accessorial charges
Provides daily accurate reporting of KPIs and activities
Monitors and checks driver processes and progress frequently to ensure quality and compliance
Directs the driving team effectively with clear communication
Ensures all equipment, tools and resources the dock team requires are available and in working order
Complies with all Corporate policies and procedures and also need to perform customer service duties and maintenance PM schedules and repairs
Qualifications:
Possesses a high level of energy and willingness to learn
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of transportation and supervisory experience; College or University Degree preferred
LTL experience an asset
Supervising in a union environment an asset

We are currently looking to hire Dispatch Supervisor who will be responsible for the planning, dispatching and managing of the local pickups and deliveries. The candidate will have industry experience, preferably within a unionized environment.
Job Duties
Manages the operations on the Dispatch Center and dispatch communication processes, procedures and people.
Maintain and execute the daily dispatch plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of outbound load execution.
Receive and process transportation requirement requests from customers.
Provide accurate directions for pickup and delivery services.
Schedule and dispatch workers to appropriate locations according to requests, or needs, using radios or telephones.
Create and change dispatcher's schedules as dictated by demand and performance.
Continually monitor workloads throughout the department and actively pursue additional resource when justified.
Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
Discuss and resolve issues with drivers concerning package questions, on-call status, assignments, etc.
Breakdown, verify and process driver delivery paperwork.
Maintain accurate up to date information on delivery equipment so that drivers will know what they are driving and what is available for use at any given time during the dispatch shift.
Generally, maintain an open and effective communication with delivery personnel to insure fairness and clarity of understanding.
Create and maintain logs necessary to perform quick checks and assessments to ensure the highest quality.
Respond to complaints with thoroughness and accuracy.
Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
Performs other duties as required
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience with dispatch/call center environment an asset
Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e. shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight)
Microsoft Software proficiency - Outlook, Excel, Word
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Able to work well under pressure
